Architectural Practice of the year Award
Wilson Architecture Shortlisted for Architectural Practice of the year Award at the Building and Design Awards 2010. The CMG Building and Design Awards 2010 recognised success in the building, engineering and architecture professions in 2010 with a focus on best practice, sustainable design and innovation. Over 270 industry professionals attended the ceremony on the 3rd of December at the Four Seasons Hotel Dublin. According to Tony Cantwell, the promoter of the event and CMG’s managing Director: “CMG have attracted senior professionals from all industry disciplines to the CMG Building & Design Awards because I feel they agree with us that as an industry – rather than individual organisations or associations – we must come together more often at an event like this to network, promote our achievements and use this award recognition ceremony as a platform to showcase our world class skills in building and design.”

Mr Billy Wilson conferred with an Honorary Master of Arts
The first cohort of graduands from the joint University College Cork/Cork Institute of Technology Degree in Architecture were conferred at a ceremony at CIT Cork School of Music on November 1st 2010. UCC President, Dr Michael Murphy, extended his congratulations to both Music and Architectural graduates. “This is the first conferring ceremony for architectural degrees in Cork, and it marks a milestone in the development of collaboration between UCC and CIT." The founder of Wilson Architecture, Mr Billy Wilson, was conferred with an Honorary Master of Arts. Mr Wilson, currently Chairman of Wilson Architecture, became involved in the campaign to locate a School of Architecture in Cork. "His ability to facilitate the bringing together of academic, professional and business communities on every level from contributing to the curriculum to raising the necessary funding had a huge influence on the foundation of the Cork Centre for Architectural Education in 2006", said Professor Paul Giller, Registrar and Senior Vice-President Academic, UCC.

The practice was awarded ISO 9001:2008 (Quality), OHSAS 18001; 2007 (Health & Safety) and ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental) accreditation and maintain a documented Environmental, Quality, Health and Safety Management System. These take into account all regulatory and legislative requirements pertinent to running the practice and maintaining the highest standards
