With over 35 years of experience, Wilson Architecture is one of Ireland’s leading architectural firms. Through our offices in Cork, Dublin and Dalian, China we provide the full range of professional architectural services to both National and International clients. We are committed to achieving design excellence through all stages of a project, from conception through to final construction.
Wilson Architecture was founded in 1984 by Billy Wilson. Today, the firm has grown significantly, and the board of directors now includes Chairman Frank O’Mahony, Managing Director Paud O’Mahony, Directors Peter Heffernan, John McCarthy, Peter O’ Donovan and Associate Directors Marcus Reid and Brian Westlake.
Our permanent staff consists of a dedicated and skilled team of architects, urban planners, architectural technologists, interior designers, site architects, multi-media designers, graphic artists and administrative staff. Our staff are experienced in working collaboratively with clients, design teams and construction contractors to ensure a hands-on approach to delivering successful projects.
Wilson Architecture have won many awards over the years and continue to do so in 2023 by receiving an International Architecture Award for The Dean Hotel in Cork. In 2021 they won two awards, for Penrose Dock, Cork in the Architect & Building of the Year Awards. These were in the Large Office Building category and the Overall Building of the Year category. This was followed by receiving an International Architecture award for Penrose Dock in 2022.

WHAT WE DO
Our projects span all building typologies, commercial, residential, pharmaceutical, education and retail. They cover all stages from master planning and concept design to interior design and certification with regulatory compliance.
We are additionally experienced in the design of high rise buildings, having completed the tallest building in Ireland, the Elysian Tower in Cork (70m), a twin-towers project in Dalian (148m) and a high-rise tower in JiNan (96m) which is under construction.
Building Information Modelling (BIM) – Wilson Architecture have been involved in 3-D modelling of complex buildings since 1995 and have subsequently progressed to the use of full BIM software packages. We recently received an industry award as part of the team which completed the first BIM to FM project in Ireland.
Sustainability – We have established a reputation for devising truly sustainable solutions across a broad spectrum of building typologies.
Adopting a holistic approach, we believe that the basis of sustainable design is an understanding of every component that will deliver a healthy and enduring building, a place in which people will feel comfortable.
We have in-house expertise in major building certification systems such as BREEAM and LEED, who input into all design stages of the project.
