The interior fitout of Corks PepsiCo R&D Phase 2 building at Little Island was completed in 2023. We wanted to subtly convey Pepsi’s brand colours in the reception design without actually putting the coloured logo or branding art on the walls. We did this in two ways. Firstly we designed a 3 dimensional blue and red backdrop to the reception desk to reflect the brand colours. This timber feature is made up of over 1000 timber blocks each with different angled fronts. Each one has been hand painted in an ombre effect from white to red to blue. The second way we integrated the brand colours was in the use of blue and red in the furniture fabrics. We had fun adding a light vintage feel. The high back seat displays fabric panels with criss cross mesh mimicking the look of traditional button back seating. This Vintage touch is carried through into the break out areas and canteen where we’ve used salvage timber to the face of the counter, subway wall tiles, old school style chairs and vintage industrial light fittings. The PepsiCo metal ribbed wall has been very well received. Walking past it causes an illusion of movement and maybe this is why people are taking selfies in front of it!
