Wilson Architecture's DesignPOP Pavillion
We are excited to share the design for our Pavilion at Design POP, Penrose Dock, Cork with you. The design incorporates simple geometric shapes intertwined by a curving horizontal plane, inspired from the logo of our Popup partner Naturally Nourished café. The design provides a ‘long table’ installation, a meeting point for outdoor dining, gathering and an event-space for play and relaxation.
Located at Penrose Dock, the pavilion, with its vibrant colour and bold forms, creates a temporary re-imagining of the public space within the formal architectural setting and provides an opportunity to re-establish the importance of communal gathering, particularly centred around a food experience.
Design POP seeks to expose the public to architecture, food and design through a series of architectural pavilions, events, talks and conversations over a weekend in August from the 27th to the 30th.
